Concord, NH— State Senators and Representatives, Republican Party Chairman John Sununu and friends gathered today in support of Jeb Bradley as he announced his candidacy for the District 3 State Senate seat.
“I'm running for the District 3 State Senate seat because now more than ever, I believe the budgeting decisions we make today will affect our way of life. I have lived in the Lakes Region for many years and have always enjoyed our beautiful lakes and mountains. Raising taxes, like rooms and meals tax, will harm the tourism industry -- the lifeblood of small businesses in the Lakes Region and Mt. Washington Valley,” said Bradley, who owned small businesses in Wolfeboro.
“Our friends and families are struggling - many have lost their jobs and can't afford to pay their bills. While New Hampshire citizens have tightened their belts and made painful decisions, state government spending grew by 17%. Now, with the faltering economy and shrinking revenues, our state must make difficult budget decisions,” continued Bradley.
“We can't shift costs from the state to property taxpayers. Rather it is time to reduce unnecessary spending by prioritizing the services and programs necessary for our friends in need, while making sure we don't keep increasing spending to levels we can't afford. Creating jobs in New Hampshire and getting people back to work means not raising taxes on businesses and means no sales or income tax...ever!”
Jeb Bradley served in the U. S. House of Representatives for 4 years and in the NH House of Representatives for 12 years. He chaired the NH House Science, Technology and Energy Committee as well as the Joint Ethics Committee.
Bradley owned several small businesses in Wolfeboro. He and his wife Barbara have 4 children and live in Wolfeboro. Bradley has hiked all 48 of the 4000 foot peaks in the White Mountains including 41 in the winter. Bradley is an avid Red Sox, Celtics and Patriots fan.
